The strongest part out of all my art pieces is the symmetry. All these pieces once started as the top picture. I cut them into different shapes and made different designs. The pictures are all symmetric and none of them are off. To improve my art pieces, I would just mess around with different things that are available on the photoshop application. To make my pictures more diverse I could have changed the colors. Since they come from the same picture to me they look similar but the patterns are different. To create my work I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool and I used the ruler Borders. I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool in order to cut the picture into a triangle shape. Then I copied the piece I cut and inversed it so that it would be like a reflection of the first piece. Then I copied those 2 pieces and inversed those too so that they would also be a reflection to the bottom piece. I used the ruler borders to make sure that each time I cut the piece, all the pieces came out even and lined up perfectly so I wouldn't have any symmetry issues.
The easy part of this activity was doing my second and third kaleidoscope because I had got the hang of it after the first one. It was also easy thinking of how I was going to create them with different shapes. In order to get different products I had to cut pieces and copy them in a different way than before. The difficult part of this activity was trying to actually figure out how to make a kaleidoscope. For a whole class period I was looking around, and watching other students create theirs. It wasn't until the end of the class period that I asked my teacher for help and from then on I had fun creating all of my kaleidoscopes. At first, it was also difficult for me to find a picture I liked and a picture that I thought would come out great. I didn't really have any pictures to use until I went on Facebook and looked through my old pictures and saw this fallen-over tree.
I demonstrated the objectives of this activity by making multiple kaleidoscopes using only one picture and by making each one of them different in their own way. If I could do this assignment again, I would change the colors in each of them and I'd continue adding different shapes so i could come up with different ideas. I would also use a different part of the picture instead of the one I used because the kaleidoscope would come out completely different, it would come out a different color, and there would be a different pattern. For this project i would rate myself an 8 because i tried really hard but i didn't go as hard as i could have. I could have done much more instead of following the same route i took the last time. At first it was difficult understanding how to cut the pictures but after i got the hang of it, i really enjoyed it and had fun doing it.

These are so cool! Great job with symmetry!
