Pop Art
The strongest part of my finished piece is the colors. I believe that this is the best part because the colors pop out and have good contrast together, the green and the purple one remind me of the joker. The part of my piece that can be improved on is the diversity of the colors, i also wish i could make more than just three shades of grey because i could have added more designs and more colorways. Three shades of grey made me feel like i didn't have many different ways i could approach this piece of art. The tools that i used to create my work were the magic wand, the paintbrush, the eyedropper tool and the crop tool. First, i adjusted the photo i chose so that it was black and grey. Then i cropped my image so it would fit the picture and i used a filter that made my photo look "cartoonish". From there on i used a slider that made multiple shades of grey and set it so that there were three different shades of grey total in the whole photo. Then i used the magic wand tool with the tolerance set to twenty and i clicked on the different shades of grey to use the paintbrush tool on the area i highlighted with the magic wand to apply different colors. I used the eye dropper tool to take colors directly from this piece of art.
This activity was pretty easy because the process wasn't too complicated and all we had to do was click shades of grey and apply colors that look nice, are contrasting to each other and are diverse so that none of the pictures you make look exactly the same. The difficult part about this activity was making sure that each piece was completely different from one another. It also took me a little while to make four unique pieces that look nice. I demonstrated the goals of this activity by taking a picture that was taken by myself and making four products with 3 different colors on each one. If i could do this assignment again, i would add more shades of grey because it would mean more work and effort on each picture which would make each one more special in it's own way. I would rate my art piece an eight because i really love the way the colors look. For me, this art goes from darker colors to lighter colors, from bottom left and clockwise all the way around, it gets brighter. I also believe that i used unique colors that not everyone would have picked so that also makes my piece one of a kind. The way the clothes look with the different colors makes me think of like a "Super Saiyan's" Aura. For Ms. Cabral if you know what DBZ is!

Cloning Myself
The strongest part of my art piece I believe is where i stand in each of my poses. From the bottom-right all the way to the top-left i change poses and every time i posed i went to a higher altitude. The message i attempted to convey during my time creating this piece was: No matter who you are, it is up to you where you stand in life. One aspect of this piece that needs to be improved on is the placing of each of the layers in the Photoshop app. I should have matched up the layers better than i did for every layer because there are some places in the picture that don't blend in or add up with the rest of the background. The tools that i used to create this piece were: the Layer mask, the paintbrush tool, the Opacity bar, and the selection tool.
I used the Layer Mask to paint in a layer under another layer and then erase the portion of the layer around my body and on my body in order to make it look like there were multiple me's in just one picture. I used the Paintbrush tool to paint in every layer under the original photo. I painted areas only around the places i stood in order the make the other photos blend in with the original because in order to do this, the person taking pictures had to be still for every photo but wasn't. I used the opacity bar to make the the layers see through so i could see the back layer and the front layer at the same time in order to line up the pictures. I used the selection tool to move around the layers and line them them up so they wouldn't look like multiple pictures.
I didn't find any aspect of this assignment easy. I thought that having someone take pictures of myself would be easy but i found that it was complicated. The person taking pictures had to stay still and not move at all while i had to keep finding new spots in a little area while not going into a spot i was already in or covering as spot i was already in. I effectively demonstrated the goal of the project by taking many pictures and putting them together in order to take myself from all those photos and put them into the original photo. If i could do this assignment again, i would pick a different setting to take the photos because i was in a small place and didn't have enough room to take 30 diverse pictures. For this project, i would rate it a 7 because starting the project i wasn't sure exactly what to do or how to do it. I didn't know what tools to use or how i would copy myself from the other photos into the original and first one that i used. In the end, i got it done but if i could do it over it would definitely come out as a 9 or a 10.

The strongest part out of all my art pieces is the symmetry. All these pieces once started as the top picture. I cut them into different shapes and made different designs. The pictures are all symmetric and none of them are off. To improve my art pieces, I would just mess around with different things that are available on the photoshop application. To make my pictures more diverse I could have changed the colors. Since they come from the same picture to me they look similar but the patterns are different. To create my work I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool and I used the ruler Borders. I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool in order to cut the picture into a triangle shape. Then I copied the piece I cut and inversed it so that it would be like a reflection of the first piece. Then I copied those 2 pieces and inversed those too so that they would also be a reflection to the bottom piece. I used the ruler borders to make sure that each time I cut the piece, all the pieces came out even and lined up perfectly so I wouldn't have any symmetry issues.
The easy part of this activity was doing my second and third kaleidoscope because I had got the hang of it after the first one. It was also easy thinking of how I was going to create them with different shapes. In order to get different products I had to cut pieces and copy them in a different way than before. The difficult part of this activity was trying to actually figure out how to make a kaleidoscope. For a whole class period I was looking around, and watching other students create theirs. It wasn't until the end of the class period that I asked my teacher for help and from then on I had fun creating all of my kaleidoscopes. At first, it was also difficult for me to find a picture I liked and a picture that I thought would come out great. I didn't really have any pictures to use until I went on Facebook and looked through my old pictures and saw this fallen-over tree.
I demonstrated the objectives of this activity by making multiple kaleidoscopes using only one picture and by making each one of them different in their own way. If I could do this assignment again, I would change the colors in each of them and I'd continue adding different shapes so i could come up with different ideas. I would also use a different part of the picture instead of the one I used because the kaleidoscope would come out completely different, it would come out a different color, and there would be a different pattern. For this project i would rate myself an 8 because i tried really hard but i didn't go as hard as i could have. I could have done much more instead of following the same route i took the last time. At first it was difficult understanding how to cut the pictures but after i got the hang of it, i really enjoyed it and had fun doing it.

Typography Project
I think the strongest
part of my art piece is the different colors and designs. The colors are all
bright and they look like they blend well with each other. All the colors pop
out like they’re neon or like they’re glowing. One part of my art that can be
improved on is how much letters are placed on the picture. In could have
changed the font and made each “y” different from each other. Instead of making
them all yellow I could have changed the colors maybe to: white and orange or
pink and baby blue to make my piece more “unique”.
Some tools I used to
create my piece were the gradient tool, the lasso tool, and the move tool. I
used the move tool to move the letters around and create a design that I liked.
The lasso tool was used to cut out things that I didn’t want to show in the
final piece. I used the gradient tool to change the background to make it look
really cool. I also did something that made these different colored rainbow circles
and wherever I clicked it added another rainbow circle. They really go with the
piece and they made it look really amazing.
What was difficult
about this piece of art was trying to come up with an original idea. I
literally started over like 10 times and used different letters each time. First
it was the letter x, then l, then v, then t etc. If I could do this assignment
again I wouldn’t change it because I’m really satisfied with it and I didn’t expect
to get to where I did. I was just going by trial and error. Creating this was
completely random and not intentional. For this project I would give myself an
8 because I could have put more content. By content I mean the amount of
letters I put. I only used about 7 or 8 y’s and then copied the whole row I had
on the piece.
