Cloning Myself

The strongest part of my art piece I believe is where i stand in each of my poses. From the bottom-right all the way to the top-left i change poses and every time i posed i went to a higher altitude. The message i attempted to convey during my time creating this piece was: No matter who you are, it is up to you where you stand in life. One aspect of this piece that needs to be improved on is the placing of each of the layers in the Photoshop app. I should have matched up the layers better than i did for every layer because there are some places in the picture that don't blend in or add up with the rest of the background. The tools that i used to create this piece were: the Layer mask, the paintbrush tool, the Opacity bar, and the selection tool.

I used the Layer Mask to paint in a layer under another layer and then erase the portion of the layer around my body and on my body in order to make it look like there were multiple me's in just one picture. I used the Paintbrush tool to paint in every layer under the original photo. I painted areas only around the places i stood in order the make the other photos blend in with the original because in order to do this, the person taking pictures had to be still for every photo but wasn't. I used the opacity bar to make the the layers see through so i could see the back layer and the front layer at the same time in order to line up the pictures. I used the selection tool to move around the layers and line them them up so they wouldn't look like multiple pictures.

I didn't find any aspect of this assignment easy. I thought that having someone take pictures of myself would be easy but i found that it was complicated. The person taking pictures had to stay still and not move at all while i had to keep finding new spots in a little area while not going into a spot i was already in or covering as spot i was already in. I effectively demonstrated the goal of the project by taking many pictures and putting them together in order to take myself from all those photos and put them into the original photo. If i could do this assignment again, i would pick a different setting to take the photos because i was in a small place and didn't have enough room to take 30 diverse pictures. For this project, i would rate it a 7 because starting the project i wasn't sure exactly what to do or how to do it. I didn't know what tools to use or how i would copy myself from the other photos into the original and first one that i used. In the end, i got it done but if i could do it over it would definitely come out as a 9 or a 10.
